Needle Felting: Art Techniques and Projects
There are many books available on felting, which do not include information on needle felting. For this reason, CyberFibres recommends the hidden spiral bound book, Needle Felting: Art Techniques and Projects, by Anne Einset Vickery with contributions from Patricia Spark and Linda Van Alstyne to fibreworkers who are specifically interested in learning about needle felting.
Ms. Vickery's book is ideally designed to guide the reader into needle felting with maximum comfort and clarity. In sixty pages, Ms. Vickery introduces the fibreworker to needle felting, explains the difference between needle felting or dry felting and wet felting, explores flat and 3-D needle felting, and provides projects for trying every technique she describes. For additional thoroughness, Ms. Vickery includes the following appendices: an overview of felting needles, wool-related vocabulary, sources for supplies (including web sites), and a gallery of needle felting fibrework.
Needle Felting: Art Techniques and Projects is illustrated with drawings and photographs in tones of blue. The type is primarily in blue, too. CyberFibres considers this book to be an excellent introduction to and reference for the fibre art of needle felting
