How to thread a needle
Forget about licking the end of your thread, floss, or yarn (uck!) and trying to spear it through the eye of your needle. Do not run for your magnifying glass. Do not call someone else with younger eyes to come and do it for you.
Cut a length of thread no longer than 18". Fold the cut thread over the shank of your needle (i.e. the part of the needle between the point and the eye). Pinch the thread firmly under the needle shank, and slide the needle out of the tiny loop. Crease the loop between your thumb and forefinger, and insert the flattened loop into the eye of the needle. Pull the loop through the eye, and your needle is ready to work
